What can I do if my Access Code is invalid?
Please provide us with the access code. Should we be able to resolve the problem, you can continue to use the access code. If the problem cannot be resolved, then we will issue a new access code.
Does the Australian version of the Smart Globe 3 come with an AC Adaptor?
No power adaptor included with this product.
Does the SmartGlobe software support Mac OS?
The SmartGlobe software runs only on Windows XP and 2000. PR18-08 supports Windows Vista
How long does it take for a full download to complete?
The full download should be completed in less than 10 min, depending on the Internet connection. For a dialup connection the download will take longer
How long does the batteries for the Smart Globes?
It can work for about 20 hours for the base unit & about 6 hours for the pen.
How to update my Smart Globe PR18-06/08 pen?

Go to start > Program>Oregon Scientific>Smart Globe Deluxe> Smart Globe Deluxe.exe


  In the below screen please select the “Age Group”

During this process you should get a green light on the pen.

Is there any online SmartGlobe demo?

My SmartGlobe software allows me to select only the 5 ~ 8 age group, but not others.
Most likely the software is outdated and needs to be updated. Whenever there is a new software version available, a message box will pop up asking if you wish to download it or not. After upgrading, you should be able to select the other age groups
My son/daughter has typed in a password which they have now forgotten?
Try taking the batteries out and leave them out overnight. If the electronic learning product has a backup battery remember to remove this as well. This should reset the password by the morning.

The mouse seems very unwieldy.
Please be advised that the electronic learning product mice are not as sensitive or as responsive as a PC mouse. It can take a little while to get used to them. You can also try cleaning the mouse, especially the bottom where the sensor or track ball is.

You will need to completely uninstall the current globe drivers from your computer and reinstall the full version again. Please make sure to switch off all firewalls you may have with antivirus software e.g. Norton’s antivirus

The pen for my Smart Globe SG18 is still not connecting, updating or responding?
You will need to uninstall the current Smart Globe program off your computer first then download new version from the following link:

If the software still will not work and you are still getting errors; then please try switching off any firewalls you may have with antivirus software such as Norton’s antivirus etc.

Once downloaded, double click on the Smart Globe Deluxe program on your desktop then connect the pen via the USB cable. The program will automatically prompt you on what you need to do. i.e. register, update and/or format pen.
The unit will not power up.
Please check the batteries. If this does not work and the unit is still under warranty please return to the retailer for exchange.
What can I do if I have lost my Access Code?
Please provide your user name and email address used during the registration process in order for us to retrieve your access code. Should we not be able to retrieve it, we will assign you a new access code
What can I do if the LED on the pen is flashing repeatedly?
Please check the battery first. Make sure the batteries are properly installed (as well as checking that the batteries are working themselves), then press the reset button once. If the LED is still flashing, then connect the PC to the Internet and manually download the data onto the pen.
What happens when there is no audio coming out of the pen?
Please check the battery first. Make sure the batteries are properly installed (as well as checking that the batteries are working themselves) and press the reset button once. If there is still no audio, which means the data and program inside the pen may have been corrupted. In this case, it is recommended to completely download the data again.
What should I do if the SmartGlobe software reports a connection failure and I get the following error message “Failed to connect to server, please pull out your pen and check the Internet connection”?
Normally, a connection failure is the result of an improper cable connection or a firewall installed on the PC. First, check the cable and make sure that is correctly plugged into the USB port. Second, if you are using the firewall then it is recommended to deactivate it. In certain cases, you may need to reboot the pc and make sure the firewall remains deactivated.
Where can I find the Access Code for registration?
The access code is located on the back of the CD cover and inside the manual on Page 9.
